(4 weeks) 20 Day Level 2 Kitchen Fitting Course

This Multi-Skill Kitchen Fitting course is aimed at developing skills such as kitchen fitting, tiling, plastering and plumbing so you can undertake kitchen projects.

This Kitchen Fitting course is a Level 2 National Award in Kitchen Fitting  through the awarding body EDI.

The Kitchen Fitting course will give you enough knowledge to enable you to plan, design and fit a full kitchen to a professional standard. 

By the end of the course you will have plastered a kitchen including window reveal, plumb in the kitchen sink, fit the kitchen and also tile the kitchen including the window.

For more experienced students, we might have time to tile the floor aswell.

The Multiskill Kitchen Fitting Course is 20 Days and you will cover the following topics in kitchen fitting, plumbing, tiling and plastering:

Kitchen Fitting

• Reading Kitchen Plans
• Working with plans and designing kitchen to specification
• Working to customer requirements
• Location of cables and pipes
• Assembling kitchen carcasses
• Scribing cut outs
• Cutting out for any pipe or cable obsructions
• Worktop preparation
• Worktop setting out, jig scribing and cutting with router
• Circular saw cutting, butterfly joints and wotktop fitting
• Cutting out and fitting of kitchen sink
• Fitting of kitchen sink taps
• Plumbing of kitchen sink (optional and dependant on time)
• Cutting out and fitting of kitchen hob (if required in plans)
• Fitting of extractor (if required in plans)
• Working with pelmets, plinths and cornice and mitre cuts
• Fitting of kithcen doors
• Final Assessment for Level 2 National Award

Plumbing

• Fit Kitchen Sink Taps
• Plumb in Kitchen Sink
• Plumb up to dishwasher/washing machine (hot & cold)
• Fit kitchen sink waste
• Fit kitchen sink trap
• Pressure test up to full working pressure
• Change tap washer and repair tap
• Work with solder, compression & plastic joints
• Work with copper and plastic pipework
• Work with flexible and solder (end feed) tap connectors
• Plumbing tools and their uses

Tiling

• Surface Preparation and Priming
• Setting out a kitchen
• Tile the kitchen wall area and possibly the floor depending on time.
• Grout a kitchen wall 
• Silicone seal along the worktop
• Tiling tools and their uses

Plastering

• Glue and skim plastering practice
• Plaster the kitchen walls 
• Work with setting plastering trims
• Plastering tools and their uses

You will also recieve course information folders on all the above trades for futre reference.
