When you’re looking to get into plastering for the first time – including not only learning this rewarding trade, but also acquiring a qualification from the outset, or at least putting yourself ‘en route’ to such a qualification – it’s well worth seeking out Cskills Level 1 plastering courses.
Our own renowned Yorkshire NVQ training centre here at YTA, for example, offers you both a five-day and 10-day course in this category. So, in what ways do these plastering courses differ, and how can you be sure of choosing the right one for your present needs?
You’ll cover considerable ground in the shortest spell of time
While both of these Cskills Level 1 plastering courses are suitable for complete beginners in addition to other tradespeople who would like to add plastering skills to their armoury, it is important to appreciate that the five-day course is a unit accreditation course.
This means that if you wish to obtain a complete Level 1 qualification during your time with us – namely the NOCN Cskills Level 1 Certificate in Plastering – you’ll need to book the 10-day course.
Whichever course you do choose for now, though, you’ll still benefit from top-to-bottom training that’ll take you a massive step closer to a fruitful career in plastering – or even just give you the skills to take on that DIY project with much more confidence, should you not be interested in pursuing plastering as a profession.
The five-day course alone, for example, covers the likes of health and safety, starting up in business as a plasterer, what plaster goes where, the boarding up of stud walls and ceilings, skimming to plasterboard, repair plastering, plastering to ceilings, the setting of bonding beads, and so much more.
Oh, and for your course fee, you’ll also be given a set of plastering tools for use during the course, together with a full-size plastering training bay that you won’t have to share with anyone. That’ll give you the full scope to learn via trial and error, while receiving all of the assistance you could need – helped by the low student to teacher/trainer ratios we maintain.
Don’t take risks with any less than the highest-rated training centre
If you have any further questions that will help you to determine whether the five-day or 10-day course is the right one for you, don’t hesitate to contact the YTA team directly – even perhaps arranging an in-person visit prior to booking, if you wish.
