Bricklaying is a trade that is practically guaranteed to always be in strong demand. After all, construction is one of the UK’s key industries, and significant portions of government expenditure are routinely devoted to major building projects. And with the most experienced bricklayers able to command salaries of as much as £40,000, it can be a highly rewarding job in more ways than one.
But of course, if you already possess considerable experience in bricklaying, you’ll already know such perks of the job as those above. Furthermore, you might not have realised that our training centre doesn’t only cater to those just beginning to train as a bricklayer, but also those who already possess various levels of experience in the trade.
Our EWPA route could be the perfect next step in your career
If you already have five or more years’ experience in bricklaying and would like to obtain a blue skilled worker CSCS card for on-site work, our Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) option is likely to be especially relevant to you.
The qualification in question that you can obtain by embarking on this route is the Cskills Awards Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Trowel Occupations (Construction) QUA813.
As a renowned provider of bricklaying NVQ Level 2 courses in West Yorkshire, YTA is the perfect place at which to undergo this practical assessment, which is based on you demonstrating your existing bricklaying skills through such processes as professional discussion and witness statements.
The really big attraction of the EWPA route, though, is that it enables you to potentially obtain this powerful bricklaying qualification in the space of a day – or two days if needed.
And if you need to get on site sooner than the date of your assessment with us, don’t worry. Merely booking your place and paying your deposit will allow us to get you registered so that you can secure a temporary red CSCS card.
A quick and simple process, with big professional benefits
Spending the day at our Yorkshire training centre, you will need to complete the various parts of the NVQ assessment process – including witness testimonies, the practical assessment, professional discussion, and direct questioning.
These parts will cover various vital aspects of the bricklaying trade, including general workplace safety, efficient work practices, the moving and handling of resources, and erecting and setting out masonry structures. You can also choose one optional unit from a wide range, to further support your attempt to pass the assessment.
To get in touch with us and discuss what is involved in the EWPA process – as well as your suitability for it – don’t hesitate to call 01274 682199 or 07400 922788, or email info@ytatraining.com. We’ll then be able to arrange a ‘skills scan’ for you, undertaken by our NVQ bricklaying assessor, who will consider whether your ability and experience is likely to be sufficient to achieve the qualification.
Don’t just hope the New Year will mean a ‘new you’. Make it a reality, by reaching out to YTA, one of the country’s leading centres for bricklaying NVQ Level 2 courses!
