If you’re reading this, you’ll probably be aware of at least some of the very strong attractions of becoming a plasterer, including the evergreen demand for plastering skills that helps to make it one of the most secure jobs of all. Here at YTA, we’re delighted to be continuing to play a major role in the training of the nation’s plasterers, through our various acclaimed plastering courses.
What we’d like to focus on in this particular blog post, however, are our five-day and 10-day Level 1 plastering courses.
These are courses that you can embark on even if you’re a complete beginner. We do, though, also receive a lot of enquiries from DIY enthusiasts interested in expanding their skills for that big project, as well as from experienced tradespeople who wish to boost their own skill set and marketability.
How do the five-day and 10-day plastering courses differ?
While both of these courses introduce the student to the fundamental procedures of plastering walls and ceilings, it is important to appreciate that the five-day course is a unit accreditation certificate.
If, therefore, you wish to obtain the full NOCN Cskills Level 1 Certificate in Plastering, you will need to complete the 10-day course, which consists of five assessments covering health and safety in construction trades, effective communication in construction trades, and the plastering of corners, walls and ceilings.
The 10-day course is, in effect, the five-day course with an extra week added. The additional days will give you the opportunity to tackle the plastering of a full wall and ceiling as a complete project, rather than as separate assignments, which is the format used in the first week.
You’ll cover serious ground (well, wall and ceilings) in a short space of time
For those seeking plastering courses that would give them the clear practical and theoretical understanding of plastering necessary to go into further training or set up as a plasterer, our Level 1 courses could be just the thing.
In next to no time, you’ll get to grips with everything from plastering health and safety, business setup, skimming and repair, right through to the setting of finishing beads, Monocouche render (K REND) and full measuring and in-depth quoting.
Whatever your ambitions may be in plastering, then, YTA’s plastering courses could be the ideal platform for your success. Don’t hesitate to contact us directly for a chat about these or any of our other highly rated plastering courses, in the knowledge that we can help you to take that great leap into what may be a whole new career.
