Electrical Course Now Available At YTA

Over the past few months we have been working hard to bring an industry recognised electrical qualification course to YTA and we are now proud to offer the Domestic Electrical Installation Certificate!

The domestic electrical installer course is taught over 10 days (Monday to Friday) and will cover a mixture of theory and practical work. We really wanted to get as much practical work into the course as possible, so we have decided to run the course over 10 days! The first course is set to run on Monday 18th March 2019 and we are offering a 20% discount to any previous YTA students, thats a whopping £240 saving! ONLY 4 PLACES AVAILABLE SO BE QUICK

The first course will only have 4 students on and yes, you might have to bear with us and have an extra brew sometimes whilst we set up the next task as this will be our first course of many! We have pursued the domestic electrical installer course due to demand form YTA students, so here it is, we think this course is going to be very popular! If you are a property developer or looking for a new skill this place is 5 stars. I searched the UK for somewhere that could do courses to help me with my property developing and found YTA. I looked at the reviews on here and FB and took the leap…so glad I did!! I’m 45 and having previously worked in offices and no real experience with plumbing or kitchen fitting both these courses were great! The tutors are all time served professionals, friendly, down to earth and you can tell they really enjoy teaching the trade. The 10 day plumbing course has given my a level of confidence to tackle fitting a bathroom suite, fit and fix radiators and plumb a kitchen. I know how to fix and bend pipes using different methods, understand how a heating system works for both heating and water supply’s, and how waste pipes work all the way to the drains. The 5 day kitchen fitting course was insightful and I feel confident to fit the basic kitchen units correctly. I now know how to use a router correctly and cut worktops to fit using male and female joints, and cut out the cooker and sink areas. You also get advice and tips on how to overcome obstacles. I can’t thank these guys enough and having booked 3 weeks worth of courses I got a free week to choose an additional course. I will be back there very soon

Anonymous – 1 day plumbing course = 5 star review!

Did the 1 day plumbing taster as I’d never done plumbing before and wanted to know how to fix leaks and tackle basic problems around the house without calling and paying for a plumber. The guys at YTA were very friendly and got us working with materials straight away. Lyndon was a great and patient instructor throughout and made sure to tailor the exercises to ensure they were relevant to what I wanted and that I got the most out of my day with them. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting to improve their DIY skills.

A busy start to 2019 for all courses

Its been a busy start to the year on all courses for 2019! We have had tiling, plastering, carpentry & joinery, plumbing and kitchen fitting running. Here’s a small selection of photos taken around the centre this past couple of weeks.

YTA offer a range of construction courses from 5 days to 10 day level 1 all aimed at your starting your own business. We only have small class sizes with no more than 5 or 6 students per course.

Excellent reviews for Tiling, Plumbing and Kitchen Fitting courses

We’ve had a couple more excellent 5 star reviews left for our tiling, plumbing and kitchen fitting courses completed over the past few weeks. Please see the reviews below:

Daniel Doran has left a 5 star review after completing a few courses at YTA. This year he has completed the 5 day kitchen fitting course, 5 day intensive tiling course and 5 day intensive plumbing course. What is also lovely to hear is he has gone on to complete these jobs in is home saving him a few thousand pounds.

I have now completed the Kitchen fitting 5 day course. Followed by the 5 day tiling and 5 day plumbing course. All I can say is these courses are perfect for any person wanting to acquire great beginner knowledge in these trades. I booked these courses so I could undertake some work on my own property. My new kitchen and new bathroom speaks for itself. Took a little longer to undertake these jobs as I was doing the jobs for the first time and working around my current job, But the money I saved (easily a few thousand £££) more than makes it worth it. Anyone looking to get started in these trades. either for your own DIY work or to even start a career. This is the place to go. The tutors are all really helpful. Even once I finished the course, I still contacted them for more advice and help on ideas. Top quality courses Graham and the tutors provide. more than happy to recommend to everyone.

 

Jeff Farrow completed our 5 day intensive plumbing course and since completing he has already started work and already sent out his first invoice! He goes on to say he will be returning to YTA Training and Assessment for further training in the new year. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Finally decided to get some basic plumbing training after an enforced career change following redundancy in computing. Course was excellent, providing the basics needed to start work as a plumber. Plenty of practical work mixed with some theory and lots of good advice. I have just sent out my first invoice. I plan to do some further training in the new year and will definitely be visiting YTA to do them.

New Qualification / Course – Foundation Certificate in Basic Heating and Hot Water System Design & Specification

YTA are proud to now offer the Foundation Certificate in Basic Heating and Hot Water System Design & Specification industry recognised qualification. The course is based upon the CIBSE (The Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) Heating Design Guide (DHDG) 2007 ISBN 1 903287 40 5.  The course is also accepted by IDHEE (Institute of Domestic Heating & Environmental Engineers) as a unit credit and will save two days attendance on the full diploma course.

The qualification can be taken during one of the 10 day plumbing courses or the 5 day advanced plumbing course

Candidates will be trained and assessed in the following areas:

  • Comfort conditions and basic heating and hot water principles
  • Basic system types
  • Heat-loss calculations
  • System design
  • System specification and selection including emitters, pipe work, boilers and pump sizing
  • Sizing and selection of hot water systems

While training covers pipe-sizing and pump-settings etc in theory, they are not part of the practical work. There are questions regarding these in the written assessment.
